Hello and welcome to my Global Issues' Carbon Footprint Blog!!

ANNIE'S CARBON FOOTPRINT BLOG

Where do you want to go to?

Calculate your own carbon footprint:

My Footprint (After)

If I continue to try to lower my carbon footprint by installing new energy efficiency improvements, eat less meat, use less internet, then my carbon footprint will decrease to 1.92 planets.

What can I change?

Well, since my carbon footprint is pretty low, there could be less thing I can do to lower it even more. But there are DEFINITELY still steps I can take to make my carbon footprint lower.

  • First, I'd reduce the amount of meat I'm eating. Try to eat less meat or fish. And if I can, try to eat more vegetables. Not necessary go vegan, because I don't think I can take it by just eating vegetables, or NOT drinking milk. I would just try to eat less meat and eat....some...vegetables...just to improve my health...

  • Then, I would probably not use light bulbs often, and instead of that, use the natural light outside of the window to light up my house (in the morning). And I can turn off the air conditioner when no one is in the room or only one people, because it will be a waste of energy for just one person to get all the cool air.

  • I should also get off the computer more often. I used the computer a lot. I know that it will damage my eyes, make me have some kind of sickness, and it can waste tons of energy. For watching TV, I watched TV less than before, so that has helped me to decrease my carbon footprint.

And the last thing is, RECYCLE MORE!!
Recycle is always nice!!
For a better future ~

----------------------

I can monitor my progress by writing my improvements down, the time I watched TV or use the computer. And based on that list, I can see the changes and know that I'm trying my best to save Earth.
Or I can create limits on using computer or watching TV. Use sticky notes to help remind me better.

My Footprint (Before)

This is my footprint before taking a step forward. It is 2.16 planets. So I think mine is pretty low for the first try, and that's good. It is that way because I don't travel a lot. I barely travel outside Asia, or out of Vietnam. The last time I traveled outside of Vietnam was when I was 7, 8 years old, I went to Singapore, and that was the ONLY time I went outside of Vietnam. And I don't spend money on jewelry or grooming products.

I don't take bus or trains, I get to school by motorbikes and it only takes from 20-30 minutes for me to get to school. And I don't really go out much. :D

Why should we reduce our carbon footprint??

First, you should know the definition of carbon footprint. Carbon footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment. It relates to the amount of carbon dioxide released everyday due to our every-day life activities. Our carbon footprint, depends on how high it is, can affect the lives on Earth. Because if our carbon footprint is high, you are generating a lot of carbon dioxide and can make Earth more polluted. And that you are "supporting" the global warming.

We are doing this to know our current carbon footprint, the amount of carbon dioxide is released. It is important to know your carbon footprint, whether it is high or low. If it's high, then we should do something to reduce it because we don't want to contribute death to Earth.

We should reduce our carbon footprint because the less carbon dioxide there is on Earth, Earth will have a lower chance of getting global warming. Our daily life activities required a lot of energy or electricity. If we can limit the amount of energy released, then we can somehow help to improve Earth. Please don't make our beautiful planet turn into a place without lives and have the lost of its beauty.
